2010 CSA Information Providence Farm's CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is unique in our flexibility. Members may customize their baskets and their pickup schedule. By joining the CSA, you will be asked to pay us in advance for a share of the crops produced. You can then come to the farm weekly or every two weeks during the growing season to pick up your basket of crops. We encourage you to bring your own bag, basket to assist us with our goal of reducing landfill waste. Each basket is $10 and contains a variety of organic crops well worth a minimum of $12. Pick up days are Saturdays from 9am to 2pm. Shares are sold on a first come, first sold basis determined by when we receive your payment. At this point in the season, we ask that you prepay 4 pickups ($40). Buying a share means you join us in the risk of farming. We will do our best to provide you with quality food. Each week you will receive a share of the current harvest. Because you are sharing the risk, however, there are no refunds for crop failures. Should a crop fail, we will substitute with other crops. 100% of our crops are organically and sustainably grown. Your share will include crops from our main farm in Cherry Valley. On occasion, you will also receive semi-tropical crops from our smaller plot in Los Angeles and sometimes mushrooms from a mushroom farmer here in Cherry Valley. Shareholders are entitled to:· A share of available crops for fifteen weeks. · Some customization of your share by selecting the crops you want included in your share based upon availability. · Access to specialty crops not made available to the public· Purchase local farm products at special CSA prices· Purchase extra crops if they are available· Receive offers and invitations to special farm activities. Shareholders are responsible for:· Picking up their produce each week at the scheduled date and time.
